Picture Matching
Picture Matching
Visual discrimination is identifying similarities or differences of a given shape or object. It is the first perceptual skill to develop, and therefore, when in place, children can begin to match and sort objects by size, shape, colour, position, number and details.Picture Matching cards hone the child's visual discrimination, which is the first step of visual Perception. When a child gets mastery over visual discrimination, other higher-order concepts of visual Perception, that are visual spatial relationship, visual form constancy, visual figure ground discrimination, visual closure and visual memory, is developed, which in turn develops idea and imagination in the child.
Visual Perception has the following elements-
1. Visual Discrimination
2. Visual Spatial Relationship
3. Visual Form Constancy
4. Visual Figure Ground Discrimination
5. Visual Closure
6. Visual Memory
